ABOUT BIG TUNA

Big Tuna is a four man, hard rocking, good-time-having band which has established itself as one of Scotland’s top live rock cover band. The band’s current set list is populist and great for creating a party atmosphere, designed to appeal to and entertain the rock music-loving masses. And it's not just pubs and clubs who can get in on the action. For all you about-to-become newlyweds, who are looking for something a little less cheesy for your big day, Big Tuna is also an experienced wedding band (for which they scrub up very well in their black suits!).

 

Their repertoire features a mix of classic rock (Rolling Stones, Kinks, ZZ Top, Lynyrd Skynryd, Bad Company, etc) and more contemporary bands (Arctic Monkeys, Kaiser Chiefs, Killers, Franz Ferdinand).

 

The original three members include Fifers, Neil Ferguson (lead guitar/vocals) and Lee Wood (guitar/vocals) and Canadian born drummer, Bill Shaw. The three, who all work together at a leading Scottish PR agency, first got together three years go when on an office night out they discovered that they shared similar tastes in music and also had the ability to actually get together and play it!

After a year of regular jamming and auditioning of bass players, the band played its first few gigs – each one under a different name – in and around the Edinburgh area.

 

In 2004 Big Tuna recruited Graeme Jackson – an IT worker by day and rock monster by night – as their new bass player. Shortly after he was on board the band began regular gigging, playing pubs and clubs in Fife, Edinburgh and other parts of Scotland, establishing the band as a formidable yet fun live act.

The band plays regularly around Scotland, especially in Edinburgh and east central areas like Fife, Perth and Falkirk.

 

They devised the name Big Tuna, which is inspired by the fictitious town in the David Lynch film ‘Wild at Heart’.

 

The boys have a proven ability to get a crowd jumping at any live music venue on any night of the week. We would be delighted to play at your venue, birthday party or wedding.
